What does everyone think the new series of Balamory will be like?

I’m 30 so I was about 7 when the old series came out. I was never a massive fan but liked it for what it was, especially since I was born in Scotland- justice for replacing Josie jump though, the old one was better. I will say I never realised there was such a call for a return.

I can’t imagine all the old cast returning. Miles Jupp is obvs way too successful now to bother doing a Balamory reboot though Archie was my favourite!

Marry Riggans (suzie sweet) is no longer with us and Penny Pocket’s actress/the character wouldn’t work that well without her. They were a duo!

Spencer’s actor left the industry entirely and now he’s more well known for being the father of a porn star.

Edie’s actress has recently signed for a film so is probably contracted there..

The only two who seem like they might be desperate enough to do it are Julie Nimmo (Miss Hoolie) and Andrew Agnew (PC Plum). All Julie seems to do is hang off the coattails of her more famous hubby.

It’ll be awful. Not a fan, DD loved it, but I found it cloying and the inclusivity was forced. Imagine that through a 2020s lens...

i generally agree. As you say it’s inclusive already so it still holds today. No need for a reboot.

I am excited lol. I was born in Australia so never watched these shows however always had a fondness for the odd bit of Cbeebies that made it through. Now that I am 32 with 2 y.o. child we’ve been going through all of these shows I never watched!
We watch Balamory like it came out yesterday, hilarious I know, especially with the time difference of technology, and Miss Hoolie’s hair is especially contrasting 😂 also I am reading gossip threads about the characters from 2005 which confirm my many suspicions about all their sexualities and crushes. It is very healing, Muahaha.
