Can we have an Efteling appreciation thread?

I nearly didn't start this thread as I don't want the secret to get out...

.. but I've just got home after my first visit and I'm sad about it. It's the most wonderful place and I'm trying to stretch out the joy that little bit longer.

Efteling. The most magical place on earth.

The best way I can describe it is... you know when you're a kid and theme parks have that lovely sense of wonder about them, but then you grow up and when you visit as an adult the facade drops and you see them for what they are?

Efteling is like going to a themepark as an adult but getting that nostalgic feeling like being a kid again.

I'm feeling the same OP.. I'm a massive Disney theme park fan but it's losing its appeal to me, which I never thought would be possible.. Efteling just has that magical quality.

I posted when you originally set up this thread saying that we were about to go in May 2025 and that I may have overhyped it to DH.

Well, I hadn't. Despite having shocking weather for May, we all absolutely loved it. We ended up going back at October half term too!

I am itching to get back again, but although DH is enthusiastic he keeps saying we should do something else. So I am serious considering booking myself on this day trip:

Efteling in winter is awesome. They create an ice rink surrounded by trees, which is absolutely magical as dusk falls.

Duinrell was really good, I loved it, we could easily spend a week there and not get bored.

Efteling completely blew me away. It's absolutely magical. We had 2 days there and felt like we only scratched the surface.

I'm pricing up 4 nights at duinrell and 3 nights at efteling for next year.

I have been to dunrill a few times and do like it, but I'd sugest swapping the dunrill part of the stay to beekse bergen, it's truly amazing.

Agreed.

I think you only need a couple of nights at Beekse Bergen, with one full day in the middle to visit the park (which isn't huge).

But do definitely stay overnight - it's a totally different experience than going for the day.

It's so amazing eating dinner on your terrace, looking out at the animals.

So maybe 3 days Efteling and 2 days each Beekse Bergen and Duinrell?
