Amazon email saying delay in shipping- advice?

I emailed something on the 16th of this month and it said it’d be delivered today(18th), not next day delivery. Fine, my son’s birthday is on Tuesday. I now have an email from Amazon saying it’s delayed in shipping. It’s meant to arrive today. What are the odds it’ll arrive today or tomorrow? Stressed is an understatement!

Amazon customer service is excellent try the online chat. We can't possibly know.

This happened to me last week. Item was supposed to be delivered on a particular day and then it was delayed for a week, then it was delivered the next day by a bloke in a car rather than the usual amazon van so I assumed something had happened to the vehicle of there was an unusually large number of packages and they were just sort of covering themselves with the new estimate.

Honestly it’s impossible to tell. It could turn up today, tomorrow or like my parcel, be lost in transit and never arrive.

I've heard of a few people having these problems recently. I wonder if something has gone wrong with their system.

I had this once when the Amazon van was involved in an accident. They emailed to say that it was delayed, then afterwards that it wouldn’t be delivered at all and refunded me. I had to reorder.
