Does anyone take this and do they see any benefits? Thinking about ordering some to take the edge off my stress/anxiety, it's not all the time and happens in bursts. I can go a week or 2 without these feelings, hence trying something OTC before seeing a GP.

I take it every day and I think it does something. Not a silver bullet though - I’m calmer mostly, but still anxious at times

Arglefraster · 17/05/2025 22:01

I take it to improve my crappy sleep & it's been life changing - makes me sleepy & I fall asleep more easily. Definitely reduced anxiety too (although not when pre-menstrual).

It's generally well tolerated so I would certainly say worth trying.

I took it on and off, not for anxiety though I do have that for sure. I took it cause supposedly it promotes lean muscle gain and fat loss and helps sexual performance, I can’t say it made any difference to either. It did make me super tired in morning when I’d take it before bed like hell to get up. So I stopped cause I have to be super fast getting kids ready right from the go in the morning

Sorry no personal experience of it, just a heads up, I read that people with autoimmune illnesses shouldn't take it. Also, I don't take it because I'm already on psychiatric (anti-anxiety) medication. Sometimes natural medicine can interfere badly with regular medicine.

Hope it works for you. I've also heard Valerian helps. And L-theanine.

Helped my grandson school refuser back into high school, helped him be smiley again. Worth a try.
Im pretty sure it’s counter indicative for people with thyroid issues.

Thanks everyone.

Lucky I don't have any autoimmune illnesses. Think I'll give it a go then try your other suggestions if I have no improvement. Thank you.

I actually came off my antidepressants and started taking this and wow I noticed a difference!!

hopefultragedy · 17/05/2025 22:38

Just replying to my last comment!

But if you are on antidepressants, don’t risk it, I’m very impulsive and don’t make the best decisions sometimes! 😂

this did help me though and I stopped taking them for a few weeks and definitely noticed a difference, my anxiety was a bit more and was definitely agitated everyday

Sorry - wrong thread

NCfor24 · 17/05/2025 23:00

I've been taking it since January along with Magnesium and Lions Mane and have definitely noticed a change in anxiety and generally feeling better in myself. I buy all from Nutrition Geeks as their 'menopause bundle' and wouldn't be without them now.

I take Valarian capsules and they definitely work. I used to take St John Wort, that worked really well, but due to now taking HRT I can’t use it.
