Is it just me who hates seeing men ( of any age / physique ) walking about in busy places & out and about , topless .
It just seems so grim .

Why does it matter?
Is it harming you?
Would you like laws that required they cover up? Is a vest ok?
Is it the nipples?

Or extend it to women wearing bikinis and short shorts when their butt is hanging out.

Perhaps showing ankles is a bit too much too?

It's a you problem, look away.

I live in a hot country and it's not nice to see men or women walking around in swimwear (away from the beaches). Would you like to work in a supermarket and put up with tourists all day with their bellies, tits and arses hanging out? It's disrespectful and shows contempt for locals.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 17/05/2025 18:14

It's tacky. Don't care how fit they are.

butteredradish4 · 17/05/2025 18:07

Their body, their choice.

But not when other people have to see it surely. How we behave does affect the rest of society, and for some it’s unsociable behaviour.

feelingbleh · 17/05/2025 18:18

I don't like it. It wouldn't bother me enough to say anything but I just don't think its necessary. Just wear a t shirt.

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 17/05/2025 18:19

MemorableTrenchcoat · 17/05/2025 17:43

Vile? I don’t see a big difference between that and women wearing skimpy bikinis.

Yes, like there's hordes of women in skimpy bikinis walking down the high street.

MrsPlantagenet · 17/05/2025 18:19

It’s revolting.

I have actually complained in our nearest coop (it’s in the local grotty estate) about them allowing topless skanky men into the shop. I don’t want to look at lily white, puny tattooed torsos, naff tattoos and sunburnt arms the first day the sun comes out. Yes, I am that person. 😂

For comparison, we have a holiday home in SW Florida and in 20 years, I have never once seen a man enter a shop with no top on. It’s unthinkable.

PluckyBamboo · 17/05/2025 18:19

Depends on the physique 😆

frozendaisy · 17/05/2025 18:21

Not football post!

MrsPlantagenet · 17/05/2025 18:21

PluckyBamboo · 17/05/2025 18:19

Depends on the physique 😆

It really doesn’t. It’s crass and mannerless no matter what.

frozendaisy · 17/05/2025 18:21

Not the FA cup post!

Shedoesasshepleases · 17/05/2025 18:22

Can I share something with you all...... I was sat on the bus on the way home from work on the row of side seats. Busy rush hour, people standing, a person gets on with black tights (just tights no skirt) with big randomly placed circular holes (not just holes from shoes, ladders up the leg I suspect deliberately cut). One hole was at their groin. The line between their hip and gut was 6 inches from my face. Fortunately a seat became free and they went and sat down. So I do agree with those who think it matters what people wear in public. I haven't fully recovered.

MaynowJunesoon · 17/05/2025 18:22

The number of tattoos on show is grim too.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 17/05/2025 17:17

'Of any age and physique'

No girl, a sexy 30 year old with a muscly body will never get a complaint from me 😄😄

🤣🤣🤣

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 17/05/2025 18:25

I'd love to do that but I fear getting rotten fruit/veg thrown at me 😂
As long as they don't brush against me with their man sweatiness, I'm meh.

NicolaCasanova · 17/05/2025 18:25

In public it is unnecessary and disrespectful. And it doesn’t make you less hot - in actual hot countries the only people doing it are tourists from cold countries.

I hate it too, OP. Especially the topless runners or doing sport in public.

Disturbia81 · 17/05/2025 18:25

I can’t get upset about it but it does scream look at me.. it’s always the skinny chav men who do it

PickleSarnie · 17/05/2025 18:26

I used to work weekends in a supermarket and, as soon as the sun came out, all the taps came off. I was a cashier so I'd be sitting and just be at stomach and nipple level. It was gross. Shops and indoor public spaces just shouldn't be clothing optional places.

Flamingfeline · 17/05/2025 18:27

I really don’t like it, muscly or no. I suppose it’s a personal choice though so I look elsewhere.

Tooty78 · 17/05/2025 18:27

You don’t see many of those in Sainsbury’s though!
It is absolutely Baltic in our local Sainsbury's, you need thermals on to survive a shopping trip!

Overtheatlantic · 17/05/2025 18:27

In America there are signs: No shirt, no service.

MeAndMyGhost · 17/05/2025 18:28

I think I dislike it because as women we're not 'allowed' to do the same. Societal norms say we can't/shouldn't do it.

We get hot too!

user1476613140 · 17/05/2025 18:29

TAPS AFF weather🤪🤣

Didntask · 17/05/2025 18:29

I think it's a bit grimy and inappropriate.

Mylegishangingoff · 17/05/2025 18:29

I don't care tbh. I don't care about women with their butt's hanging out or wearing leggings(another mn pet hate) either. Let people wear or not wear what they want. Seeing someone's fat hairy stomach isn't going to make anyones eyes fall out, it doesnt actually hurt anyone.

Soonenough · 17/05/2025 18:34

Only appropriate on a beach . Or in your garden , etc. Not in shops , high streets , restaurants. You wouldn't be allowed in many places like that . Or bikini tops either. " No shirts , no shoes , no service " is normal in US .
