Booking a driving test

My driving instructor wants me to try and book a test for August. He said what some people do is book a test for anywhere in the country, download an app called testi and put my preferred test centre on there.

My question is, what happens if I do that but then I can’t get a test for August at my preferred centre? Am I stuck then? Hopefully this makes sense😬

The advice my son was given was get up early on a Monday and log in for 6am when the next batch of tests are released. It took some cajouling to get him to do it (he is not an early morning person) but was able to book one straight away for about 6 months time.

Your driving instructor's advice is good and is how my DC did it. You won't be stuck with a test if it's not the one you want - you'll be able to cancel or postpone it until you find one at the test centre you want.

August this year or next is all I’m going to say!!

I did that and managed to get a slot.
There are people who will sell you a slot for £400+ on social media so the cost of Testi proved money well spent for me. I had to be super quick when a slot came up because the sorts of people who buy and sell slots are also on the hunt for last minute slots so they go super quickly.

We did as suggested and had the rest we wanted within one day of trying. The Testi app was £12 but worth it. Had a test for October in Boston. Next day one in Norwich for July

How much does testi cost?

A one off payment or monthly?
