About venomous spiders and snakes in Australia and catching them for anti venom?
The snake keeper had the most venomous snake in his hands milking his venom, he wasn’t even wearing gloves ! 😆 he said the small amount of venom he was draining into a shot glass !! Could kill everyone in the room 5 times over !! Amazing how cool people can be, I wouldn’t be going anywhere near that bad boy !

Did you see that guy on the news recently, he’d been bitten multiple times for years: they were using his blood to make a vaccine; he’d developed antibodies to most of the world’s snakes. Nutter, but useful!

Just watched it / read the article. Its quite fascinating and thank goodness there are people out there willing and able to do this. Obviously science has played a massive part.

Australia has numerous venomous creatures but a low death rate for bites / stings due to their anti venom programmes.

Didn't actually realise there was a "Sydney Funnel Web spider" though (just thought they were Funnel Webs) I've now gone down a rabbit hole reading about the different types of Funnel Web spiders. The Sydney Funnel Eeb is the most venomous spider in the world, its also very aggressive and as per its name it is usually found within 100km of Sydney and often in populated areas. Yet nobody has died from a bite since the 80's.

There’s a fantastic Australian tictoker who’s a snake catcher-he goes into people’s houses and catches snakes that have taken up residence there then releases them in the bush. I could watch him for hours!
