Stay alive if no man on earth was sexually or physically attracted to you in any way?

Doesn’t apply to me but curious as friends were discussing this the other night. Answers from women only - would you stay alive/be able to enjoy life if literally NO man on earth was sexually or physically attracted to you/turned on by you in any way, shape or form? And why?

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 16/05/2025 20:42

Ugh men who think women only want to look nice for their approval are the worst

arethereanyleftatall · 16/05/2025 20:43

Lol. I’ve only read the opening post. And I realised I would absolutely LOVE that.

CapitalAtRisk · 16/05/2025 20:44

OP asks a question.

Loads of people reply with "Yes, I could totally do that!"

OP cannot seem to understand that.

OP asks another question.

OP, you have the problem here, not us.

sundaybloodysunday12 · 16/05/2025 20:45

Not sure I understand the question.

I’m overweight and tired and the wrong side of 40. Don’t think any man particularly desires me.

However, could I go down the pub and find a man to have sex with me? Yes, any day of the week.

Does that make me feel good about myself? No, not really, it doesn’t mean anything, most men will have sex with anything.

So I’m not sure I understand.

I don’t dress well and put on makeup for men, I do it for myself

Anyway, you haven’t answered your own question?
Would you want to stay alive if no man ever again found you attractive / wanted to have sex with you?

Cavello · 16/05/2025 14:06

Yes, because believe it or not for some women the world does not revolve around whether a man is interested in them. Life can be very fulfilling without a man.

This.

Lesbians for a start!

LordBummenbachsMagnificentBalls · 16/05/2025 20:47

Yes, easily. HTH

Do you mean would you k1ll yourself? Or do you literally think people stop being alive if they dont have a partner

Perfect28 · 16/05/2025 20:49

I feel like that would be a blessing no? What an amazing life!

cryinglaughing · 16/05/2025 20:49

Absolutely no problem.

OxfordInkling · 16/05/2025 20:49

I’m don’t link my worth to the opinions of men.

Flippertygibbets · 16/05/2025 20:49

Weird male troll alert 🚨

Whiteflowerscreed · 16/05/2025 14:26

Can’t believe this is even a discussion point. I’m early 30s and would happily stay alive with no man interested in me. My worth, value and contentment aren’t derived from male gaze

But surely you can understand that many many people your age would be devastated if they knew would never meet a love partner ever in their lives.

TwinklyRoseTurtle · 16/05/2025 20:50

Who cares what men think 🤯🤣

Puppalicious · 16/05/2025 20:51

What age are you OP? You are either very young or a man. I’ve certainly had times when my DH didn’t fancy me in the slightest, I have no idea if other men did (when pregnant, when I put on weight) and as I age it is very likely there will be a time when no man desires me. I don’t intend to commit suicide at this point, fingers crossed I will still have my health, children, friends and family! What a bizarre question.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 16/05/2025 20:52

I often think life in an all female commune might be cool.

I love my DH. But, on balance, women are so much better...

ThatLilacTiger · 16/05/2025 20:52

I'd have to shelve my dreams of running away with Jensen Ackles but somehow I think we'd both find a way to carry on.

Howspieduh · 16/05/2025 20:52

Yeah, I'd stick around. Because my life is for me, no one else.

MatildaMovesMountains · 16/05/2025 20:53

Fuck yeah 😎

wavingfuriously · 16/05/2025 20:55

They were never really interested in me
..now I just cant be bothered with them..

Flippertygibbets · 16/05/2025 21:00

Absolutely love mumsnet. Weird man troll pops on looking to devastate some women with the scenario of ‘no man interested in you’ and the unanimous answer is ‘thank fuck for that’ 😂

Hotflushesandchilblains · 16/05/2025 21:01

I lived in Asia for years, not the most cosmopolitan area. I am big and blonde and to the locals, really funny looking. It was not until I moved back that I realized how much being thought so unattractive had affected me. But sexually - nah, not bothered.

I think it will start to become far more common -, in fact I might set up a business - of two (or more) single mothers joining forces in one home. So many women stay with godawful men because they can’t afford it on their own/are scared of going it alone. But, 2 women - perfect! Everyone pulling their weight.
