What responses would you want and what symbols would you choose for them?

Or would you scrap them altogether?

(I don't feel the current ones are the right choice and neither do the pictures make much sense).

The two I most wish for are a Like (thumbs up) and a Care (some kind of hug emoji, with no smile).

Yes I think they'd be useful, I get confused between Agree and Thanks, I think one is redundant, a general Like would be better. Also would like to get rid of the laugh emoji as it has caused some upset for recipients if used cynically. Could have some kind of disagree one.

copi1ot · 15/05/2025 11:16

Yes, I don't get the "thanks" being a clapping emoji.

I think an old style MN Flowers would be good as a general warm response. On similar lines a Biscuit !

Good question. I would like a hug emoji and a sad face emoji.

MoistVonL · 15/05/2025 11:22

I would like a “banging my head on a brick wall” emoji

UnderTheCover · 15/05/2025 11:32

I'd like a puzzled face emoji

Croquembouchiere · 15/05/2025 11:35

I agree with what you've said tbh. I think a like / agree 👍 and a care / hug 🫂 would be better.

I didn't know until recently that some people use the laughing face / funny 😄 maliciously (to laugh at people's misfortune or whatever). If that's happening obviously HQ should be banning the people who do it

feelingbleh · 15/05/2025 11:35

I think they should get rid of the laughing emoji as is constantly misused

dairydebris · 15/05/2025 11:35

Definitely a hug emoji.

Keep the rest. I don't mind the laugh emoji. Sometimes people are really funny, and I don't mind occasional snarky laughs directed at me.

MintChocCat · 15/05/2025 11:37

I think:

Agree (thumbs up) makes sense.

Hug emoji for support.

Disagree emoji (thumbs down)

100 emoji for 100% nailed it.

Sad face too for sad posts.

TheCurious0range · 15/05/2025 11:39

Why do we need emojis at all? If you agree or disagree with someone you can tell them that

copi1ot · 15/05/2025 11:39

At the risk of opening up an old conversation, the current choices are baffling.

I love the MN Confused and find myself looking for it on WhatsApp.

I think they're a better alternative to lots of people posting. "This" or "I agree".

It could be argued that the eye roll emoji has a place.

TheHerboriste · 15/05/2025 11:46

Thumbs down or dislike.

Croquembouchiere · 15/05/2025 11:48

I wouldn't like a thumbs down emoji tbh. You'd just get people manically down voting everything they disagree with like reddit.
