Braces fitting after wisdom tooth extraction

I need to have my upper wisdom teeth removed and then braces fitted. It should be a straightforward extraction. The orthodontist offered me the braces fitting exactly a week after the wisdom teeth come out. Is that madness??

I don't have exact experience but have had a wisdom tooth out in the past and currently have braces. I'd probably bump the braces appointment a week in case of any swelling and pain from the extraction. The first two weeks with braces can be quite uncomfortable whilst you get used to them. For me personally it'd be a lot to cope with in one go!

Edited to add - is it the braces actually being stuck on? If it's just the scanning appointment that should be ok.

Does anyone recommend an app that can collate photos of my teeth like on a weekly basis so I can track progress as hopefully the braces straighten my teeth.
