Self checkout and security tag

Among other things I bought a pair of joggers from a supermarket that’s a fair drive from my home. I did the self scan thing, didn’t realise there was a security tag on, paid, left the store and no alarm went off, got home and there it is. So annoyed with myself that I didn’t think to check. I really don’t want to drive back (I have the receipt). Has anyone got any suggestions how I can remove without damaging the item?

I do this ALL the time it really gets on my nerves!!

any shop/supermarket that has the removing device will do it for you if you have the receipt, don’t try yourself as some has ink in them which will go everywhere

Thanks @cherrycola66 i hadn’t thought of going to a different store and I didn’t know about the ink, it’s so annoying, I wish I’d just gone to a good old fashioned checkout with a person!

I know I do it every time and kick myself when I get home because you’d think by now I’d check

I had a home delivery once which
included a bottle of rum. Realised the security tag was still on so took it out to the driver who said, no problem, I can take it off. Only his tool didn't work and it was stuck. I could still open the bottle but everyone I see it on the shelf I think.....oh, that looks really dodgy!!

It's just high strength magnets which remove tags. You can buy them online, but would be easier to just wait until you're next in store unless you have another need for a strong magnet.
