Am I overthinking this?

I went to the shop and got a few bits for dinner. I got a bottle of red for Friday night, so I don’t have to go back to the shop. Then I saw that Martini was on offer. It’s a sunny day and I fancy a Martini with tonic in the garden. I couldn’t decide between the normal Martini and Rosso. I‘ve had a shit week, so treated myself to both.

As I was at the till, my boss appeared behind me. She asked what I was planning for dinner, she needed inspiration. I said ‚‘beans on toast‘ and she said ‘and Martini?’ and laughed. She had obviously looked at my shopping.

I blurted out ‘its not all for me!’ and felt very embarrassed. She knows I don’t have anything resembling a social life. Now she must think I’m a raging alcoholic :/

You’re definitely overthinking it. It was just an off the cuff lighthearted remark.

Hugely overthinking it. She made a light-hearted comment, she doesn't think you're some sort of raging alcoholic. I really wouldn't give it any more thought.

She was just making a lighthearted remark. I doubt she even remembers it now, but if she did think anything it would be either that the Martini was a gift or you'll be using it for some other occasion than beans on toast

You are definitely overthinking. She was just being friendly
