There are a few lines in songs that always make me chuckle, even though I’m fairly sure they weren’t meant to be funny – I thought I can’t be the only one so might make a fun thread!
I thought of it yesterday when Lorde – Green light came on the radio. It has the line:
“She thinks you love the beach you’re such a damn liar” and it’s delivered with such vitriol!
What’s the back story there? She’s clearly very upset with this guy but is that the worst thing he’s ever done? Said he loves the beach when actually when they went he got sunburnt and moaned about sand in his sandwiches and undercrackers?!
Vanilla ICE “If there was a problem, yo I’d solve it” – always makes me think of a David Brent type character who make sure everything running smoothly before announcing “OK, no problems, good. But if there was one…..”
This was my favorte inline in a rap song until Tinie Tempah came out with the incredibly braggadocious "I got so many clothes I keep some in my aunts house"
The last one that springs to mind is Justin Bieber “My mama don’t like you, and she likes everyone” but maybe that one was supposed to be funny?!
