It’s properly light at 9pm!

I am very excited.

In November I can remember my middle aged eyes worrying at 4. 30 because it was darker than this.

But also being old I feel I am not making the most of the long evenings like I used to, What are the rest of you doing out of interest ? Sure I should be doing more.

I love it too! And it least we have some good weather to go with it.

I have been taking the dog out more in the evening as we both need to lose some weight! Tomorrow I’ll be at an outdoor event so will be nice to have it light so late.

Though soon someone will come along and tell you how they miss the dark and bloody cosy nights. I hate it when it’s dark at 4. I can do so much more when it’s light in the evening. Played golf last week. Can go for a run…

It's beautiful isn't it

I love it too!
I seem to have so much more energy than I did when it was dark so early in the afternoon.
It surprises me how quickly the time comes around that in the depth of winter I'd be getting ready for bed!
Now I stay up longer, I sleep well and if I wake early I can hear the birds singing hours before it gets light.
It's early yet so I don't really make use of the time other than just to enjoy the longer days.
When summer arrives I know that with the warmer weather I will go out more walking in the neighbourhood, chatting with the dog walkers, going for a drive for an ice cream and just feeling more alive than I do in the winter.

I love the longer evenings, I just don't like very hot weather, what we have now about 22/23 is perfect especially as it's cool at night, which it often isn't later in summer. I eat about 7 then often go back out and do some more gardening till it gets dark, I'm changing quite a few things in my garden so lots of digging which is so much easier in the cooler evenings. I love evening gardening, it's so peaceful.

Do you live down south? It's been daylight at 9pm here for weeks!

Yes.
I know it's lighter in the evenings up north. Your winter mornings are way darker though.

Checking in! 🤣. I closed the curtains at 8 to pretend it was actually evening. I can't settle down and relax otherwise. I should really live by the equator. I don't like it light after 7pm or before 7am. It just doesn't feel right.
