Things that your OH does that just wind me up… light hearted

Should say winds YOU up. Nothing your OH does will wind me up 😂 Sitting watching tv. My DH will watch a movie 10 times over. It’s not intentional viewing. He will literally sit down, put the tv on and watch whatever is on the tv no matter how many times he has already seen it. Doesn’t matter if it’s from the beginning or if he picks up half way through. Drives me silly.

I don't know how I will ever find someone to marry

I literally watch Two Doors Down every day, I can quote it 😄🤭, its a comfort thing

I can completely understand someone else being annoyed by it - my dd has no choice though!

EG94 · 13/05/2025 18:09

When I had one… breathing 🤣🤣

MidnightPatrol · 13/05/2025 18:11

Mine leaves cupboard doors open.

Every time he needs a pair of shoes, cupboard is left open. He might get a plate out. Cupboard left open. Needs something from his wardrobe, cupboard left open.

Drives me insane.

RebeccaRedhat · 13/05/2025 18:14

Loads!

One thing I've noticed recently is that after brushing his teeth he wipes it all over the hand towel. Ive asked him, do you not brush your teeth then wash your face so toothed paste froth goes down the sink, but no. All over the hand towel.
Now we have a hand towel and face cloth each!

Sassybooklover · 13/05/2025 18:19

Using a ton of loo roll, and then wondering why the toilet blocks up!! 🤷 Strangely, it never blocks for me or our son...!!! 🙄

Hatty65 · 13/05/2025 18:24

Opens the kitchen window. Frequently, however cold it is outside.

The kitchen window is over the sink/units - which means I can't bloody reach it to close it without dragging a chair over there and climbing up on it. It drives me mad.

Worriedsickmostofthetime · 13/05/2025 18:27

Leaves all his ‘stuff’ on the kitchen island. This is also where he insists on us eating breakfast in the morning. Each morning is a 5 minute exercise to move his motorbike helmet, keys, wallet, lunch box, laptop etc so we can eat.

Also just thought of another one… he loves jackets. He has MANY jackets. Every chair in our house has a jacket hung over it. Grrrr

Narrates cooking as he does it. If I'm not in presumably he doesn't talk to himself, but if I'm at home every 5 minutes I get an update. I've taken to telling him the only time he needs to involve me is when it's on the table. Otherwise just bloody get on with it.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/05/2025 18:38

Roll over & take the duvet with him. Then moan he was too hot in the night & has a sore throat (from snoring because he was too hot).

Do all his friend's DIY & then moan he hasn't got enough time to do stuff for himself. 🙄

I love him dearly but he's a total prat at times.

MoonWoman69 · 13/05/2025 18:45

Makes noise constantly. If he isn't talking to himself, he's singing songs, but not songs, just tunes he's making up as he goes along. It's like he can't keep quiet.
He also started doing this "clicking" thing when he was scrolling on his phone. After the first couple of times, I said, can you stop grinding your bloody teeth?! He looked embarrassed and said, I'm not! God knows what it is, but I had to tell him to stop it again the other night! He's literally driving me insane with all the unnecessary noise that comes out of him!!! 😤

GameOfJones · 13/05/2025 18:50

@MoonWoman69 perhaps we are married to the same man? 🤣

I love DH dearly but he hums or sings to himself constantly. There's no tune to it, he's just making random noises. He's tidying the kitchen up right now (he's a good egg really) but all I can focus on is him going "doo dee doo dum dee dum" to himself in there.

This can be a symptom of adhd apparently, so says my DH anyway!

Mine is that he ‘tidies’ stuff away constantly, but he can’t tell you where he put it. If anything is lost the kids ask ‘did daddy tidy it?’

Mermaidsarereal · 13/05/2025 18:56

Makes toast/sandwiches on the kitchen counters without putting them on a plate! Sick of cleaning up his crumbs!

HeatwaveToNightshade · 13/05/2025 19:01

DP verbalises his thought processes. So I never know whether he’s talking to me or just doing his roving-reporter-live-from-the-kitchen routine. Sometimes (a lot of times😆) I ignore him and it turns out he’s waiting for an answer to something. Drives me round the bend. Especially when I’m wearing my headphones and have to keep pausing my audiobook to check if the house is on fire or if he’s just ranting at himself about the football. Because obviously I need to know one of those, but not so much the other.

Utterlyincandescently · 13/05/2025 19:02

Powders his feet in the living room.

Goldengamer · 13/05/2025 19:03

Mine puts his suit clothes for work the next day on hangers on the small hooks on the back of the bathroom door (which already has our dressing gowns on) ready to change into the next day . He leaves the hangers on there instead of putting them back in the wardrobe . Just annoys me as I get up after him and put them back in the wardrobe every day . He’s always leaving stuff where it doesn’t belong . We are both adhd but so different , he also leaves the kitchen doors open ! Oh and I work 3 days a week inc weekends when my husband is off . When I get in he gives me a complete list of jobs he’s done round the house , as if I’ve never done them . Maybe I should do the same when he gets home from work

Mine did that, we used to say “that poltergeist has been again”

it’s so weird!

There's something cute about this one. Like your own personal cooking programme.

user2848502016 · 13/05/2025 19:07

Manages to splash so much water around the sink when he washes his hands in the kitchen and never wipes it up.

Instead of just using a whole piece of kitchen roll, will tear off a small piece (because a whole piece is wasteful apparently!)

RaraRachael · 13/05/2025 19:10

We've just had dinner and he insists on scraping and scraping every last trace of food from his plate with his knife.

Gets right on my wick!

Goldengamer · 13/05/2025 19:10

This is SO my husband too !

Expensivecoffee · 13/05/2025 19:10

He had to much stuff = clutter i got rid of him.

Knittedfairies2 · 13/05/2025 19:11

My husband does the warthog-at-the-watering-hole thing in the bathroom, not the kitchen - water everywhere. He takes off his shoes and leaves them neatly, side by side, but doesn't put them away; it looks as if he's been teleported somewhere out of his shoes.

Deanthebean · 13/05/2025 19:12

My husband empties his pockets before putting a wash on and leaves all his rubbish on the breakfast bar without cleaning it up 🫩🫩🫩
