Cravings after giving up smoking

I had my last cigarette on 21 Nov 2024. I've literally just realised, just now at quarter past 7 UK time, that I haven't wanted a cigarette so far today. Just now got a big pang and craving.

For all of the previous 6 months, the cravings have been a lot worse and a lot more frequent than this. Even though I only smoked about 5 per day from 3pm/4pm onwards!!

Looking forward to the day some time way ahead in the future when they never even cross my mind. When did that happen for you, any ex smokers out there?

I'm afraid to say I still get the odd craving 15 years later! Not enough to light up but enough to sniff the smoke from a just-lit ciggie thst drifts past. My cure all those years ago was sugar - jelly babies, fruit gums etc - bags of them in the car, coat pockets, everywhere. It does get a lot better and I actually went through a dreadful Mrs Smug phase at how easy it had become. Well done you, hang in there and a pat on the back from all us ex-smokers x
