I'm an idiot (FB scam)

I should know better... FB reels offer for a little product I wanted. Thought yeah a couple of quid... went to buy and something didn't seem quite right so stopped.
Too late. £1.99 taken.. no biggie.
Only a week later a mysterious payment of £37 f gone. Just rang my bank and hopefully they will stop it. There is nothing I can find about the merchant online. But I'm slapping myself... I've NEVER ordered anything from FB and I usually check Trustpilot etc for any online web site.

New bank card on its way but I am SO cross at my own stupidity!

Was it one of those so called free trials where the advert says you only pay for postage?

Meh, don’t worry. It happens.
You only feel this way because subconsciously, you decided only stupid people get scammed. And now you’ve been scammed…
It’s not the case though, they’re becoming more and more sophisticated & know exactly how to hook you in.

I saw one a few weeks ago that I think was a scam. It was for Dunelm. You answer eight questions and then for £2 you can buy something that is normally £130. I couldn’t find anything on Google or their official site and the link didn’t take you to their site. I’ve also seen one for Sports Direct, again nothing on the official site

You are not an idiot. Thank you for sharing as it’s the only way for us to be aware of these tricks scammers use.

Ah thank you for making me feel better. I do feel SO stupid! I'm a reasonably intelligent woman who usually checks things thoroughly... I don't know why I didn't! It looked so legit.
Never going to make that mistake again!
