If someone is selling hundreds of new items on Vinted, do you think they are shoplifted?

Just that really.
It seemed to be mainly underwear, all new with tags.

Or am I being cynical?

They probably just got them at auction, failed business or old stock or something.

I would have thought 1s-10s of items is more in the shoplifting range, not hundreds. Unless you have an army of people out there nicking them.

I love it when people mention the HMRC thing. I sell loads of stuff online. All sorts of things sourced differently none stolen and just write the names of the platforms I use on my tax return. Never had a problem.
You can source stock from all over clearing out an elderly relatives home (with permission or after they’ve died), left overs from a business venture, auctions, pallets, local factories selling off slight seconds the list is endless

The thought did cross my mind recently...I was looking at brand new Oliver Bonas earrings. I realised the seller had about 50 brand new with tag pairs for sale, which made me a bit suspicious.

If I want to know where they got them from originally I just ask. Could you ask?

I got a fair amount of what was originally M&S underwear on eBay. I just thought there must be somewhere that sells seconds to eBay sellers and that is how they make their living .Quite a few people seem to sell new underwear in this way. It didn't occur to me that it would be dodgy.
