car accident- what next

Had another car drive into the side of me whilst I was stationary at traffic lights.
The damage to both cars looks minor- scuffs and scratches.
The other driver accepted it was her fault and has asked we deal with it without claiming on our insurance.
What do i need to do next?

You always deal with it via your insurance . Neither of you have any idea how much damage really was done and there are some quite severe consequences if your insurers discover non disclosure

I’d always go through the insurance, it sounds dodgy to be asked not to. Did you get her details and photos?
DS was asked this when he bumped another car no damage , clearly he was in the wrong, but the other driver wanted it financially settled privately. We informed our ins. Co. And never heard another thing.
However! The only time I didn’t go through the insurance was when a parent at the school I taught at ran into the back of me. She paid the repair bill without a problem.

Go through your insurance. They admitted liability.

Always go through insurance , never assume it’s a minor scuff and pretty much she will end up saying it wasn’t her fault .

You really need to go through your insurance. Think about it. The other driver could later get a quote (for both their and your car) and think is too much and then claim through their insurance or their partner/family member forces them too? Then that would make you look bad and less credible if they chose to lie and say you somehow caused it. Just report it.

Obv the other party would ask you to not go through insurance as it serves them more so!

I presume you’ve swapped details? If so I’d get a couple of the quotes for the repairs, send them to her. She should then either give you the money or decide to go through the insurance.
I’ve had 3 accidents, all 3 were going to sort by not claiming on insurance however damage in 2 of the accidents was more substantial than first thought so ended up going via insurance.
