Has anyone had a sinus lift?

I need to get a sinus lift prior to getting an implant. Just want to know what your experiences are of getting one? Did you have any short term or long term side effects?
The dentist has told me that I could get sinus issues after, even long term, has this happened to anyone? This could be rare, but just think she wanted to let me know it could be a possibility. This doesn't sound very appealing as I've never had sinus issues in the past.

I'm also a bit worried about any nerve damage or being left disfigured as in, not being able to smile properly or something or just looking weird.
I know I will probably be very swollen and sore for a week or so , I just don't want any permanent issues.

I had one five years ago. No issues so far. I was able to drive myself back from the dentist and I can’t remember the bruising lasting too long, maybe a week? V expensive but so worth it.

I’ve had this and other than the additional costs it incurred there were no problems at all.

Had one- no issues at all. Bit achy for a few days but nothing at all long lasting. Really wasn’t that bad. They have to give you worst case scenario. The cost was the worst part!

Thanks very much for the reassurance, that makes me feel so much better about getting it done. Can I ask how much it cost? Mine is going to cost £1200. Then the implant will cost £2,800. All that for one tooth. But it's either that or have a gap in the back of my mouth, it's one of my molars that is missing and it does bother me.
So £4,000 for one tooth basically , people will think I'm mad.

Roughly the same. But hopefully the implant will last me well. It was that or a bridge which would damage other teeth. I hated the gap.
I would do it again if that helps!

I had a front tooth implant without the sinus lift and it cost £4500. It’s stunning though completely natural I’d do it again - bad or stained teeth are to ageing
