Do your kids watch soaps?

As a teenager I loved neighbours and home and away, and then mainly eastEnders but also a bit of hollyoaks. I know they are often silly and u realistic but I actually think they taught me a lot about certain issues, and were almost a safe way for me to learn about relationships etc and have crushes on certain characters etc.

I'm guessing kids don't really watch them these days, it got me nostalgically thinking they are missing out on a vital resource! But I'm probably just old 😂

Dd, 6, is autistic, but responds to the eastenders theme tune 😄

She's watched since she was born, as have i!

I hope she will keep watching, if it's around in her future (it's quite dull right now)

I do think it's a nice family thing to do

She also loves The Chase 🤭, which we put on as I make dinner - it marks her evening routine for her

My kids are 18 and 15 now but to the best of my knowledge have never watched a soap. I used to love them but I can't have watched a soap for at least 5 years. There is too much other choice now.

I used to watch all the soaps! Loved sitting down at 7 and starting with Emmerdale, then Corrie and Eastenders. Back then I guess we didn’t have Netflix, Amazon Prime or 100 channels lol. My kids don’t really watch any soaps unless I’m catching up with Eastenders which is the only one I watch now.

Me and my daughter watch eastenders together I was a bit unsure at first but any dodgy bits I just skip
