Sickness

I’ve called in sick today bc i really can’t move out of bed without needing to go to the toilet.. cramps are so bad. it’s the second time im missing, and last time was a uti. I feel really nervous when i need to message work saying i wont be able to go in, because i always think im gonna get into trouble. i’m still on probation, and besides the sickness i haven’t missed or had any issues with them. but the manager answered me telling me “ im still in probation period” which worried me out as i can’t lose this job. it’s not like im missing work to go on holiday or to go have fun. i’m literally in bed planning to go to work tomorrow even if im not better as i can’t be losing out on money either. was it me or she was tryna make me freak out about the probation period. cause they can’t just sack me from being ill can they?? especially if i always do everything properly.

You can be sacked at any time in probation I believe

is it the second day in 2 years or the second day on 2 weeks

Mate you're ill and not able to go to work. Focus on getting better and then worry about work.

I Had exactly the same situation. I just started a new job and fell pregnant. I had morning sickness so bad I couldn’t attend work. I had the most supportive amazing group of colleagues and my manager was the best however I still lost my job because I was on probation you have to go in no matter what when you’re on probation it absolutely sucks and I totally know how anxious and worried you’re feeling but you have to go in otherwise you will lose your job. Even if it means throwing up in front of them so they can see how genuine and sick you are at least you did it and you went in and they are the ones to send you home. Also, I would say maybe call instead of texting. I’m not sure what your job company is like but mine prefered calling. go and do the best you can to your ability. Let them see how ill you are and they will be the ones to send you home that way at least you’ve gone in and you’ve shown your face.
