City break with 6 year old?

Hello
please can I have your recommendations for a city break (3/4 nights) in Europe in July for me and a six year old. We don’t mind walking and sightseeing but obviously nothing too strenuous! No theme parks please. We can fly from Liverpool or Manchester. Budget around £2k
thanks

Barcelona, loads to do and a beach as well!

When ours were that age we went to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris, Seville. We loved them all. Amsterdam and Copenhagen might be better temperature wise in July though.

Barcelona is great for kids - zoo, aquarium, wacky Gaudi buildings, beach, cable car over the harbour.

Salzburg and Bilbao are both very walkable, child friendly cities that maybe get overlooked!

I agree that Barcelona would be great. Also Venice. I’ve done both as a city break at a similar age. Ds and I also did Valencia last summer and he thought it was the best thing ever, but it was very hot and not as walkable. Didn’t spend anywhere close to £2k anytime I’ve done one of these so should be fine.

The main thing I’d consider is that most places in southern Europe will be very hot in July. Like very hot. So if you might consider Copenhagen or Berlin or Oslo. There will still be loads of museums and playgrounds and opportunities for swimming, but it won’t be 35c.

Thanks all. Would love to go to seville but far too hot in July! Am edging towards Barcelona I think.
