Hi please no judging . I lied on my arranged overdraft and said I worked when I don’t and only claim uc . It got accepted and I got the money . Will I be arrested ?
im not blaming the bank but surely they could see I don’t work by my bank statements
this is Lloyds bank .
im really scared Im gonna be arrested I have a 3 year old son. Im ashamed and j know this is all my fault

Oh I doubt it if it's already gone through.

Be careful with it though!

Unlikely to be arrested but once the bank realise you aren’t working and only receiving UC payments into the account they can legitimately take your overdraft away as you lied to them. The application is automated so only looks at the amount of credits to your account and regularity, but usage is reviewed periodically and it’s at this point they will see the discrepancy i.e. UC only no salary.

Changes of circumstance happen all the time. You may have had a job offer that fell through.
Don’t use the OD though. It is very tricky to manage if you don’t have much coming in anyway. You will essentially lose money before you start.
Good luck with finding a well paying job in the hear future too.
