Any tips for an easy DIY housefly trap?

I hate houseflies and I have one in my home right now buzzing past my eat and landing on everything. I cannot catch it to whack it or hoover it up.

How can I get rid of it overnight? I know the apple cider vinegar works for fruit flies but this is a house fly.

I need it gone asap!

Apparently half a lemon with some cloves stuck in works. Not sure how or why!

An empty jam jar, not washed out so sides covered with a film of jam. Half-fill with water. Tap a nail through the lid to make a hole and screw lid back on. Fly can get in but can't get out.
