Confidentiality rules when disclosing a crime

I’m sorry because this is probably the wrong board but does anyone know about this please.
If someone was to admit to a crime committed against me or involving me, would the police (or healthcare worker) be allowed to talk to my family about this, or just to me? Since I’m an adult I assume that they cannot speak to anyone but me about anything?

They would need your consent to share that information unless they believed that you were in immediate serious danger as a result of not sharing.
