Give me energy

I have no energy to do anything. I work hard during the week, but at weekends I get nothing done and have no energy to do anything. Sometimes I sleep a lot - mostly daytime naps.

I'm in my early 50s. Not on HRT. I don't do much exercise and don't have time to except at weekends when I don't have the energy to. I'm certain I have ADHD (symptoms my whole life that have affected my whole life) but I can't get a referral as an adult in my area and can't afford to go private. One DC, also with ADHD.

I am burnt out. I have no motivation. It's not depression.

I find it hard enough to get things done when I'm my normal self, but with even less energy than usual, I'm not getting even basic tasks around the house done.

Help.

Energy starts with what you eat and drink, what’s your diet like? Also gut health is a lot more import to general health and well-being than most people realise.

Don't discount what a good diet that does not include alcohol, certainly not overuse of it, or ultra processed foods, can do for you.

If you haven't done already, get on a good regimen of decent foods the less processed the better.

Get plenty of fluids, water is ideal to flush out the system.

Everyone has time for a walk on the weekend.
You just have to do it.

Ideally it would be a fairly long brisk walk but it doesn't have to be.
Start off was brief walks, and work your way up.

Every time I feel uninspired and I force myself outside I always feel more energetic when I get back.

Instead of afternoon naps can you not stretch it and go to bed a little earlier until you get into a routine of sleeping through the night?
A good uninterrupted nighttime sleep is best.

Hopefully you sometimes plan pleasant things on the weekend, to reward yourself after a week of hard work, again it's all about balance.
