Norwegian fjord cruise. Want smaller ship

Can anyone recommend a cruise line for Norway that has smaller ships? I'm a cruise virgin and all the options and prices seem bewildering. The P&O ships put me off with their size, but maybe Hurtigruten wouldn't offer enough on board or excursions? Any advice appreciated. We are a fit couple in our 60s.

Hurtigruten - lovely cabins, gorgeous food from local suppliers and so many stops on route. We went from Bergen to Kirkenes.

If you want the typical cruise style entertainment of the large ships, it isn’t for you.

Thanks. We really don't want shows or singers. Maybe the odd lecture and opportunities to do a few excursions on land, I think. And a bar or lounge.

Sounds like Hurtigruten would be a good fit. There are onboard lectures about the different ports and organised excursions. If it was a short stop we had a walk around, stopped for coffee and enjoyed the different places. We were on the Kong Harald - it had a well stocked bar - expensive!

Yup, Hurtigruten. Lots of stops, opportunity for excursions, no 'entertainment'. We loved it.

We also did Hertigruten and really enjoyed it. We did a couple of organised excursions but mainly we just got off the boat when it docked and had a little wander around.
