Where are the soft tissues!!!!!!

My nose is in bits from the worst cold I've had in years. I've had covid 3 times, but this feels worse than any of those times.

The worst part is, all the tissues seem to be rough now. I've used so called super soft ones, balsam ones, anti allergy ones, and they all feel pretty much indistinguishable and rough as cardboard.

What are the best tissues available nowadays? I look like a heavy whiskey drinker with a bulbous red nose at the moment, and there's no sign of this cold shifting (granted it's only been 4 days!)

I always use Kleenex Balsalm tissues when I have a cold. Never failed me yet.

I use Kleenex balsam to get me through the never ending hay fever season. Not found anything else as soft.

Thanks for the recommendation but I have those already and am very disappointed with them. Unless I'm just being a big baby, but I could swear these were a lot softer previously.

They may have been but they are the only ones I can find that aren’t like paper.
Toilet paper is also less robust and soft than it used to be and there seems to be less of it on a roll.

Are you using anything to soothe your nose? Vaseline or sudacrem would help

PeriMoan · 03/05/2025 11:55

Yes, that's true. I'll stick with the balsam ones so. Thanks.

I feel really sorry for anyone who suffers from hay-fever and has to put up with this for months each year. Must be hell.

I'm putting Vaseline on my nose several times a day. I'm just going through boxes and boxes of tissues. I don't think I've ever had a cold like it. I took a covid test and it was negative. Also been taking zirtek in the hopes it would help, but it's not easing at all.

You poor thing. Sudacrem might help with the soreness a bit more, especially if you can apply it before bed and get a few hours sleep without touching your nose.

Although you probably need to wait for the snot to stop before your nose feels a bit better! It's miserable I know!

I have just had a very sniffy cold and used the Kleenex balsam ones or anti allergy ones and loads of vaseline, I did get a big blind spot though, near my nose, probably from the vaseline, cold lasted about a week.

PeriMoan · 03/05/2025 12:09

Kleenex balsam definitely coming out tops it seems. I'll get DH to pop out for more. I need more paracetamol anyway. I don't have sudocrem but I have a similar nappy cream type thing that might help, or should I get sudocrem?

I'm hoping I improve a bit over the next few days. I have a family do next weekend and still don't have anything to wear. Was planning on shopping today, but don't think I'm fit for anything except bed /the sofa. Also, big red nose in photos afterwards 😍😂
