DNA/Heritage tests

Anyone got a recommendation or experience of heritage or dna services?

A sibling recently did this and I was amazed by the results. Specifically the diverse countries he/we are supposed to have.

It’s particularly interesting to me as my mum (when she was very old and sometimes confused) often said that we weren’t from the same “bull” (farming background 😅

I’ve read online reviews, talked to friends/colleagues and am none the wiser as to which one to go for.

Go for the one your sibling went for.

I was so disappointed with mine, it was one small area in Ireland and a small area in Yorkshire.

My daughter did an ‘Ancestry DNA’ test and the results were very interesting. You can see in the results which parts are from mum and which from dad which was interesting for me, because it indicated that on my side we’ve got a lot of Irish and Norwegian. My daughter’s dad is from Sicily and her test picked up the exact region in Sicily where he is from (unusual and not a well known area). So I do think it’s accurate.
