Chair cover vs snails

I have a stupid question

When i put the covers on garden furniture, i immediately get dozens of snails sneak underneath to leave shits all over my chairs.

What am i doing wrong? Ive asked my neighbours and they say they have no problems with the snails and slugs doing this.

Weirdly they dont eat many of my plants, they just shit on the furniture!

That is odd! I don't have that problem. The only problem I have is seagulls who shit on the cover I put over the furniture - but I can live with that.

Is your furniture damp when you cover it? Do you have planters that butt up to it?

You'll have to put a circle of salt round it everyday!

No planters or anything. I also had covers on our little tikes cars that the snails love too. I also see them have midnight gatherings on our patio so maybe i just have loads in my garden?

Furniture dry when covered - and it's just metal not cosy cushions of anything
