I’ve been doing my ancestry and my great grand parents are buried in a field cemetery and grandad born on a street by the football ground
is it safe for me to walk around alone on Saturday afternoon?

I know the city centre but never ventured out

absolutely safe and friendly - say hello to any of the older people and they will be delighted to hear - Liverpool is a city of immigrants and lord of people track ancestors, especially with Irish roots to here

Liverpool in general is very safe. It's not like London where muggings and street theft happens on a regular basis. Not to say it never happens but it's rare.

Anfield, yes that would be safe. It’s Liverpool city centre that isn’t that safe now. Due to the balaclava crews.

Thanks all, I might hop on the train on Saturday for a wander round

Rubbish. I go to Liverpool loads and have never felt unsafe.

Where are you getting this from?!

City centre is safe for everyone. I took my two kids for a wander and visit to the world museum over Easter. It was lovely.

OP there are lots of murals to discover around Anfield so leave plenty of time!

Eh? What you on about? I live and work there, never seen this.

Liverpool feels very safe. It’s a lovely place to be. Enjoy your trip! It’s gorgeous at the moment with the happy footy atmosphere and the sun shining!

You'll be fine. A relative used to be the priest in Anfield and walked everywhere. Probably as safe there as any other city suburb.

Thanks so much, I live in Manchester and wander round so great news I can go and explore my roots!
