Is there such a thing? I would like to drink something cool in the evening, which is all of these things. What do you drink?I like iced tea but not without sugar.

Erm water. Sounds very boring and restrictive sorry

It's quite nice. But sometimes you want a bit of variation like some lemon/ginger/berries/mint infused :)

Ponderingwindow · 02/05/2025 19:39

I typically use carbonated water and just a tiny bit of simple syrup but I think this would still be good with still water and no sugar at all.

muddle fresh strawberries with balsamic vinegar. Top with ice water.

@CalicoPusscati’m not taking about infused water. I’m talking about all the nons in the title

Kombucha. I get it delivered from a company called leftfield. It's not cheap, but I don't drink alcohol any more.

It's surprisingly easy to make your own, buy a culture and put in a jar with some tea and sugar (mostly to feed the culture rather than for the finished drink), leave for 4-7 days, strain and enjoy while you start another batch. It's cheaper and so much nicer than the bought stuff and I know it's full of live bacteria. You can also add fruit to flavour it after bottling.

Ah OK. Well the nicest alcoholic refreshing drink I had was one measure of amaretto with ice and water, lovely and honeyed and almondy and complete thirst quencher.

I have made my own in the past, but I understand you can't drink that much of it at once. I had to throw my scobie away as I was away such a lot when my dad was dying and it turned black! So I need to get back into it.

What tea would you use? Black or green or herbal?

Is kombucha the same as kefir? I have kefir in the fridge. Can I reactivate it and use it?

Steep half a dozen dried juniper berries in a bottle of diet tonic for a day, serve with ice and a slice. Tastes just like g&t without buying expensive non-alcoholic “gin”. Berries can be re-used a few times.

Mochi1fudge · 03/05/2025 00:17

Vermondo coconut water (in the vegan milk section of Lidl) with ice and sliced strawberries and raspberries.

Iced herbal tea - mint, mint and licorice

Stinkbomb · 03/05/2025 00:27

Water with some fruit and ice?

CalicoPusscat · 03/05/2025 01:28

You could get one of those water stations and swap over what you add to it each day

Water, cucumber, mint, ice cubes - keep a pitcher in the fridge.

I enjoy a light tonic water with ice and a slice
