Please help me get a laptop. Recommendations

Hello

I need to get another laptop. I don't mind buying a refurbished if I can find something. You see my current laptop is a 17 inch one I think but I need something smaller, lighter and more portable.

I browsed like for nearly forever online and I keep going back to the Lenovo ideapad.

However this is a chromebook. I don't have anything against chrome. I have chrome on my phone and tablet. I need to study a module and do assignments and my college has me signed up with a Microsoft account. I think there will be some Microsoft applications like word and other stuff.

I think I am going to need a table that runs windows. Likely windows 11.

So does anyone have any recommendations for a laptop top for me please.

I need something that is portable and slimmer and smaller.

I was looking at HP elite book but that's a 14 inch screen. I don't know how it is with thickness and weight. I think I could go this route however it doesn't make much sense. It's not much difference to what I currently have.

I saw this post earlier today, and I was checking to see if you had received any suggestions yet.
I too am having to replace my Samsung laptop I've had it for quite a few years it's a 17 inch also and I've been told that those aren't that common anymore unless you're a gamer and you pay quite a bit more for them.
I'll be likely running Windows 11, which my old laptop won't be able to run.
Come the middle of October Windows 10 will not be supported updated or able to get security patches from Microsoft so I too have started to look for a replacement.
