What do you do for YOU as a parent?

Admittedly I’ve neglected myself completely since having children. I had post natal depression and it took me a long time to pull myself out of it. I’ve put a huge amount of weight on and do nothing for myself other than the odd hair/nail appointment.

My DD is 11 and whilst lovely, she’s started to push boundaries and I feel every emotion myself really deeply. I’ve realised that I need something for myself, escapism from the demands of parenting and work.

Looking for ideas and wondering if anyone wants to share what they do for themselves.

I take time out to write in my 5 year diary.. it’s small and cleverly designed-it’s my little escape after a shower or when I have 5 mins to myself.
I make sure I take time for a brew.. the list of jobs is endless so I prioritise a cuppa and sit down for 10 mins regularly. Without this I’d go struggle for sure.
I also walk:jog once a week in a little group of lovely ladies. There’s no pressure and we chat about anything as we jog about.
these are the things that keep me going.
good luck op, and hope you find some things that work for you.
