Things that bug you unreasonably

Do you ever have things that are literally none of your business that bug the hell out of you? This is lighthearted but there is a new build row of terraces down the road from me, all but the one in the middle have parking off road and the middle and end ones have been sold, but the people who bought the middle terrace have decided to just use the car parking king space as if it's their own. I know this as I walked past and the estate agent was telling them it's not theirs and they can't use it (yes I could hear because they were talking quite loud and I'm nosey).

The estate agent was saying it puts people off buying as they think they will have problems with the drive. Cf middle house owners said they wouldn't use it if people bought it.

For some reason everytime I drive or walk past and see them parking there or their car there, it really unreasonably bugs me, because I'd be really pissed off if they were my houses and someone was doing that.

This has literally no impact on me at all, I don't live on that street, them parking there makes zero difference to my life, apart from think they are cheeky fuckers for the 10 seconds I see it as I go past, and I'd never say anything to them, but for some reason it really bugs me.

I imagine if it were my house I was trying to sell and someone was doing that! 🤣

Anyway, that's mine, anyone else or am I just weird?

People who say they are never going to do x, y or z again ever. Then later along the line they do.
It annoys the hell out of me, yet it's got bugger all to do with me and doesnt affect me at all.

Sunshineandrainbow · 28/04/2025 22:53

Broad country accents and all the incorrect grammar that go with them ( looking at you MIL) sets my irrational side off.

Blackcountrychik83 · 28/04/2025 22:59

Recently people who seem to think they can have an opinion on everything that’s on the internet .
I feel like there’s so many judgemental people and they make other people feel bad about themselves .

I asked in a group recently on the price of a haircut locally because I needed to make an appointment for my Mum and prices had gone up so much recently … I was told by a woman isn’t your Mum worth the money regardless how much it is ?
then she proceeded to argue with me that I was stupid for asking a stupid question on the internet .
Im sick of people’s ridiculous comments .

WhoAreYouTalkingTo · 28/04/2025 23:00

I'm glad it's not just me. I think it's the absolute Cheeky Fucker nature of it. Like the house with the drive is literally still up for sale, you could have bought it instead, it was available, but you bought the cheaper house and now want the perks of the other one!!🤣
@Sunshineandrainbow I would be so tempted to just move them!! 🤣
{mention:LuckyManifestations}@LuckyManifestations, can kind of understand people saying they'd never do x or Y then doing it, because things change all the time, but I do know what you mean, it's like "oh, who's the jusgey one now?"

People taking big suitcases and pushchairs/ prams down crowded escalators at London stations- there are lifts just a minutes walk away!

LemonViewer · 28/04/2025 23:03

This is completely unreasonable of me I'm fully aware - but slow walkers on London tube who see the train on the platform, but don't speed up to get on or move out the way, causing everyone behind to miss it. This drives me nuts to a totally silly level.

mindingmyown37 · 28/04/2025 23:08

The can I have your shirt signs at football matches… bugs the hell out of me, I love ladies football have done for years, I love how it’s gaining the traction however I hate the celebrity part of it, it’s very clear from many of the games I’ve been too for some people it’s not even about the football. Years ago my mum and sister met most of the lionesses after the games, this was a normal thing, then people started to abuse it so it’s no longer really allowed.

men that get on a virtually empty bus and sit next to women, it’s creepy af…

people who don’t wait for you to exit before trying to push in or on…..
Stands to reason that if you let me leave asshole there will be more room for you to get in. Grinds my gears.

people who talk super loud whilst on a call on public transport…. I wear AirPods and can still hear… don’t wanna know your life story thanks.

also people who feel the need to bully people on social media, keyboard warriors. On here aswell… then they turn around and say ‘ if they put thier life online they should expect it’ why should they? Just keep scrolling if you don’t like them. Poor excuses for shitty behaviour.

What accent do you have @SquashedMallow ?

@WhoAreYouTalkingTo the word “bug” used in this context, well, it bugs me! 😆

One word: coat hangers. Bloody annoying tangly bastards.

House opposite gets the guy who runs the garage next to his house to park the garage van outside his house when he leaves. We live close to the station so I understand why he wants to keep the space. It also does not affect me at all, as we have our own drive and garage. Really annoys me. For no reason.

I hear you!! I get that some people are slow walkers, or not in a rush, but spare a thought for us poor commuters whose trains have been endlessly delayed meaning we are going to make our first meeting by the skin of our teeth, but only if YOU GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!!

Boy George

Haribo adverts

And Paddy McGuinness and anything he does. Especially that booking shit advert.

TY78910 · 28/04/2025 23:25

Local groups on Facebook is also one of mine. People moaning about anything and everything, with pictures, screenshots of kids from their ring doorbells. Just bloody stop.

AgeingDoc · 28/04/2025 23:28

Certain spelling mistakes. Dependent/dependant used incorrectly really annoys me and seeing the word "independant" makes me seethe. I once worked in a hospital which had a sign directing visitors to the "High Dependancy Unit" and I often wondered how it could possibly have got as far as being hung up in public. I did consider correcting it with tippex in the middle of the night once when I was on call but I couldn't reach it even standing on a chair. Most spelling and grammar mistakes don't particularly bother me - I'm sure I make plenty myself - but for some inexplicable reason this one really galls me.
I also get unreasonably angry when I hear chorizo pronounced as chor-it-zo and I've got a bit of a thing about badly fitted bike helmets too.

The ones about cats always really piss me off unreasonably too. Those that say (at 1715)
"Tiddles is always home for his dinner at 1700, and I'm so worried that it's now way past 1700 and he's still not back. Out of my mind with worry. Please check your shed and garages for him". Listen Beryl, I wouldn't rouse myself out to check my garage or shed if my own child was 15 mins late home, let alone for your cat!

Justfreedom · 28/04/2025 23:59

Women banging on about womens rights.
Men that wear suits.

Ah and the ones where sadly a cat was ran over. Queue the comments section: PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS SPEEDING. TAG LOCAL CLLR. PUT SPEED CAMERAS UP ON THIS LOCAL MOST OF THE TIME EMPTY ROAD.

Sorry loves, you have no idea if this person was speeding. Relax.

Parents who can't or won't control their children. Children are allowed to walk all over the furniture in pubs and cafes etc. Little angels! Don't get me started on feet on seats on public transport!

I move any random cones I come across.

Unless they’re in a disabled bay, or in front of a house with disabled access. I’m that grumpy cow.

Any cones or wheelie bins in the road I move onto the path.
