Recommendations for a small/slim laptop

I have to study a module to become certified in my work.

My current laptop is a ThinkPad (15inch). I love it because it is solid. However it is big and heavy (for me).

I need something smaller and slimmer for course work and writing assignments because a smaller machine will be more portable.

I currently have a tablet (android tab - Samsung) and that is great for reading the course material. I think I will need a laptop for assignments.

I know my own schedule and there will be a few weeks in the summer time I will be very busy and living our of bags.

I think maybe a smaller laptop might help me more. It will be easier to pack in a bag and maybe I can go and get some peace and sit in a library, hotel lobby or bar for a day or more and get some stuff done. If I need peace away from other people to do my work.

Any recommendations for a laptop for me. My course has me signed up with Microsoft so preferably a laptop that will run with Microsoft.

It’s very small - tablet size - but I have. Microsoft surface pro and j can’t tell you how much I love it. I got a keyboard and stylus to go with it and it is fine for all my work (I have a PC at work but travel a lot). It’s fab and excel / word run fine on it

Thank you for your reply. I had a quick look online and there are some older models of the machine that are somewhat budget ok. The newer models are very expensive. Too expensive. It would be perfect. The size of it would be great for me.

I would need something more budget friendly but thank you for your reply. It would be perfect for me except for the cost of it.
