Mine is "appropriately". It's commonly used by people explaining their thinking or belief, without giving consideration that the word has different meaning to millions of people with different cultures around the world.

Lisa. The word/name conjures up semolina mixed with ear wax . And Adrian. Which reminds me of ear wax, full stop. God knows where those associations began, preschool I think, but both names (words) make me feel ill.

Flamingmentalcats · 30/04/2025 21:24

Saliva/spit make me feel sick seeing the word, hearing or seeing it

Same

I don't know what felch or meatus mean and I daren't google them!

Both sound nasty though.

Catastrophising because I can't (reliably) say it.

Pasture. Not sure why, I just hate it

MummaMummaJumma · 30/04/2025 23:00

Trajectory.

I have persevered with many words over the years and practiced until I can eventually say the word with ease. Not trajectory though. I wish I could add a voice note on here 😂, I sound so funny saying it. I avoid it at all costs.

Practically. A word used far too much!

Also 'by close of play'

3678194b · 01/05/2025 01:45

Brew as in make me a coffee/tea; "Make us a brew, would ya?' Similarly 'cuppa'

Kip (for sleep)

Pit (for bed)

Recently seen 'doglet'. Not keen on that either!!

Littledidsheknow · 01/05/2025 08:12

Anemone. Or is it Amenome? Or Anenome?

Spell checker tells me it’s the first. But I’ve forgotten already.

Gymly · 01/05/2025 10:50

Totally with you @Littledidsheknow . Not helped by the fact that there are both plants and animals with that name. I think for several years I thought one was anemone and the other anenome, which TBF looks wrong written down but sounds fine said out loud.
