Help with holiday search please.

Can anyone help with my holiday search please?
Just me and DH. Adults only a bonus.
I have (minor) mobility/health issues so not too hilly.
budget of about £5-700 each
October or November
Sunny and warm
Beach (if part of the hotel great)
Not long haul. 3-4 hours from the UK
Turkey, Greece, Canaries, Cyprus etc

I'm stumped because I just want to sit on the beach and read whereas my DH likes to stroll (for hours) and chat with locals.

We've been to Marmaris for the last couple of years and loved it. I'm happy to go back but just seeing what's out there.

We had an absolutely perfect holiday in Olu Deniz 12 yrs ago and don't really want to go back there as it could spoil the memories. Of the local people we met and remember so fondly and of the whole holiday. (but I keep looking!)

So a beach holiday/resort that has a promenade?
I'm probably after resort/hotel recommendations as I've been searching for ages think I've found a good place but find out my DH would probably be bored (and bug me and interrupt my reading!)
Thankyou

Have you tried jet2 holidays or tui websites OP?
There are filters for adults only and other things.

The budget is likely to limit your options , which can help limit the choice.

Is it room only , bed and breakfast, half board you’re after?

Marylou62 · 28/04/2025 08:17

Yes.. I've spent ages looking on these sites.

And yes I know it limits our choices.

I was just coming back to say we like all inclusive but open to anything as long as there's shops/restaurants nearby.

Budget is plenty for October or November for 2 adults as long as you don't expect luxury. But it will cover something perfectly decent, although we prefer SC or B&B then it gives us the freedom to eat out where we choose, in seafront restaurants where they bring the food to you rather than needing to get it from a buffet. We also stock up with drinks, snacks and easy food from the supermarket, as we spend a lot of time lazing on the terrace, reading, drinking, chatting and eating.

If you can go in early October the weather will likely be more reliably hot than late November. Malta or Balearics could also be OK as would the Canaries. But you need to check the location carefully as pretty much everywhere in the Med can be very hilly.

You don't mention Spain, but the Costa del Sol would probably suit. Miles of promenade, good public transport, access to cities/amenities.

Fuengirola is a proper town, has a promenade, castle, marina, train to other towns and Malaga. I think it's fairly flat. However, there's only one AI hotel showing on Jet2holidays, I don't think it's an AI sort of place, because it attracts a more international crowd and people more likely to eat out, which is likely to be better value for money and a nicer experience unless you enjoy queuing at a buffet of mediocre food.

But other places like Benalmadena might have AI if you're set on that. Do a general search on Tui or the package side of Jet2, Easyjet or BA to see what's on offer.

I don't know about the price but we had a fantastic holiday at Barut B Suites in Turkey. Couldn't fault it. I've heard good things about the other Barut hotels too

And my birthday is early October but looking at those dates it's a lot more expensive than November..
Don't want hot hot.. just 20s would do my menopausal self..

It's probably more the location with a promenade that I'm looking for..
Think I've found something in Paphos...
Kephalos Beach Village...

Marylou62 that looks really nice. I'm tempted to book it too!

Marylou62 · 28/04/2025 19:43

Can't yet.. I'm waiting for an inheritance from my darling Mum to go through probate..
She was in a care home but died before all the money from the sale of her and my Dad's house could go on fees...(Not a moan about care home fees..she was lovingly cared for.) This money is money my brother's and I came to terms with not inheriting..
So this holiday will be very poignent..

I’ve said before and will say again - Madeira ticks all your boxes. Funchal in particular!

Hilly though generally. There are large stretches where the prom and main road are flat, public transport is really good.

Highly recommend Paphos - it’s just lovely.
Fabulous to walk round, everything nearby, good public transport etc, very friendly.
And they’ve got “English” sockets as a bonus.
