Is there any hope...? (Lighthearted)

For my beloved Autograph trousers?
The photo is weird in the artificial light. They are deep navy and only a few weeks old. I adore them.
I fought a jar of separated tahini and lost.
I have smothered them in washing up liquid twice and then washed.
Is this oil stain going to be the end of them, or does anyone have a magic trick I can try please?
Wwwaaaaaaahhhhhhh

Prepare yourself for the loss
Remember them as they were
Draw the blinds. Cover the mirrors. Stay in doors. 4 week should cover it

Thank you for your words.
I am inconsolable...
And I can't tell from the current cyber-attacked website/ app whether they are actually out of stock and will come back, or whether they just appear so.
I'm going to have to repurchase them or I shall expire completely from the grief.

(I do have a £20 voucher to soften the blow)

Try swarfega gel. Can get on amazon just rub it on the stain then wash as normal. I had a jumper that had a grease stain on it for months which wouldn't budge and it got rid of it even when it had been washed multiple times before to no avail

DebbieTheCat · 28/04/2025 21:17

Elbow Grease spray

Sprig1 · 28/04/2025 21:44

Hang them in the sun
Just leave them there and see what happens. It can work miracles (bug I Have never tried with oil.

ForPearlViper · 28/04/2025 22:36

Try ironing the fabric between two wads of kitchen roll to see if that gets the grease out before washing again.

Stain Devils do an oily stain remover. Eucalyptus essential oil also works on some oil stains, but you will need to wash them separately a couple of times or your entire load will smell like a packet of Lockets.

PeriMoan · 28/04/2025 22:44

Not sure if it's still made but I've had great results from de-solv-it stain removal in the past. Not the sticky stuff remover, although that is pretty good too. I have definitely got oil out of a top using it before.

RainBow725 · 28/04/2025 23:10

You could also try talcum powder. I’ve had some success with that. Might need a few tries.

Another recommendation for swarfega - got an oil stain out of a silk blouse. Hope you can save them!

Jones3A · 29/04/2025 07:07

Thank you so much for the recommendations! What form have people used swarfega in?
