Anyone know about ON STREET parking near Great Ormond St Hospital?

Taking my disabled child to Great Ormond Street Hospital this week.
Public transport is getting too hard, so we’re driving (Blue Badge + no congestion charge).

Does anyone know about on-street parking nearby? Hospital can give permits, but I’ll have to leave the car and queue at their reception to get one — worried about getting a ticket. NCP etc is available but £££ whereas on street is free with Blue Badge.

Camden’s website says Blue Badge holders can ONLY park for free in grey zones (not green).

Has anyone done this? Any tips?
Marked the hospital building on attached map, see red splodge.

Thanks so much — parking advice really appreciated

Can you call the hospital before you go? It says they have an essential parking scheme for blue badge holders. It all seems a bit confusing as they have green badges in this area, instead of blue.

I do this on a regular basis but it has become much more difficult recently. There seems to be more no loading markings on double yellows. There are some pay and display bays in Queens Square and surrounding streets where blue badge holders can park for free but they are usually full. I sometimes find somewhere in Guilford street. You would probably find somewhere eventually but I would allow an extra hour before the appointment time to find somewhere.

There are lots of massive one way systems in that area so a wrong turn could take you on a long detour.I would definitely be accepting the offer of a permit from the hospital if I were you.

Thank you. I can see there is a permit scheme but I worry about having to leave the car outside the hospital - in an area where the parking wardens are frequent - to go and queue at reception for a permit.

@msbevvy I recall the one way systems. Very frustrating. It’s one of the reasons I’ve posted - if I know a street to aim for it’ll be easier
