Does anyone know Tarleton in Lancashire. I'm looking to move back to the North West and would appreciate any comments on this area.

We looked at moving there about 10 years ago, it's lovely and has a really good feel about it, few local shops and the cock and bottle was food last time we went in (around the covid dine out time).
Aldi just been opened along with a Costa, other than that nearest supermarket is Burscough, with a big tesco.
its not to far into southport, if have kids then martin mere, rufford old hall, windmill farm are all.local.
The hesketh bank end seems like a long way down.
Overall we'd have move there but for the right house
Do you know which area you'll be working?

Tarleton is nice and has some amenities. I would consider living there but it isn’t on a train line.

There is a regular bus service from the main road at the south or the village into Southport and Preston which both have almost everything.

It depends what you want. If you want to be nearer to a large town but still have access to green space then I’d consider Crossens or Ainsdale but if you want a decent sized village then Tarleton is nice.

Tarleton and Hesketh Bank are both lovely. Have a village feel but amenities on the doorstep. I would also have a look at Rufford, Croston or even the villages around Longton (nearer to Preston).

One thing to be aware of is traffic at busy times especially due to the lights at Tarleton on the A59. I think it builds up on Hesketh Lane too as it's one road in and out to that bit of the village. But if you're not travelling frequently at rush hour this shouldn't be too bad.
