Any dentists about?! It’s almost time…..

Booked in for a filling. I’m petrified. Appointment is next week.

My fear is ridiculous, I do not fear the actual dentist, or the work they do, or the tools they use. I fear being numbed!

More specifically, my fear is of my tongue being completely numb. I have experienced it before and it almost makes me feel as though I cannot swallow and I might ‘lose’ my tongue somehow (I know, but it is just a fear).

I had a filling a fair few years ago without being numbed and whilst it didn’t hurt, it was the vibrations from the drill that was too intense and made me feel as though I was going to pass out. So I don’t think I can go numb free again.

Is there any way of being numbed without it affecting my tongue?

Tell them. I get it, I had a wisdom tooth out without sedation and it numbed my eye for some reason and I panicked for a bit
I always feel like I can’t swallow
