What was this 80s cereal?

I've been trying to recall the name of a UK breakfast cereal from the 80s for years, but I could never describe it accurately enough to ask here. Well today I saw an advert for something the shape of which is very similar so I'm hoping someone will recognise it!

The cereal I'm thinking of was this shape but brown. It was not sweet and it was nice and crunchy. I keep thinking of Start but it was not Start, maybe it came out at the same time. Help!

Oh! I remember it, but I can't for the life of me think of the name!

It wasn't chocolate, it did that thing where you had to eat it fast or it went a bit weird.. I liked it!

The only reason I ate start was they once had a collect tokens to get pop posters, and I got a massive Aha one.

The internet says Farmhouse bran - and this advert does ring bells!

Don't think we ever had anything but original (And TBH, I'm surprised we had that - we rarely had named brand cereal!)

ohhh I remember that advert! I went through a stage of eating a banana flavoured cereal (yuk lol) and no one ever seems to remember that! it was literally like coco pops but banana lol

It's a bit disappointing because I don't recognise the name (Google tells me it used to be Farmhouse Bran in the 80s but I don't remember that either!) and the box doesn't look familiar. But it must be that!

Definitely Farmhouse bran. It was lovely.

My Dad's favourite cereal. He ate it every day when possible for umpteen years, usually with a sliced banana. When it was no longer possible to get it in their local supermarket, my brother and I would take it in turns to scour our own local supermarkets and take it over on the ferry. Happy memories. Still available. There was a difficult period a few years ago when there were some supply or production difficulties, but a lot of people took to social media to beg for its return.
