I just need to sleep…

Normally. Like a normal person.

I can remember the last time I went to bed at a normal time. Like 10/11pm and slept through. You know?

I have been out celebrating my friends big birthday tonight but I got home at 1am… you’d think the alcohol would have helped me sleep.

although I do have a cold.

im just so sick of not sleeping. Fucking menopause is shite

The exact same. Feel your pain. Can I borrow a newborn baby, they were the best sleeps ever!

Staywithmemyblood · 26/04/2025 04:49

Wide awake here too - I feel your pain 😩

reinventionn · 26/04/2025 04:53

And here. And I’m in Europe so an hour ahead. It’s getting light and birds are chirping and I’ve not had a wink of sleep tonight.

We’ve got so much to do today (Saturday) too…

So far tonight I've been woken for a blocked toilet (that I can't seem to unblock) woken by my cat objecting to be woken earlier 😑 and JUST as I was falling asleep my "heat" alarm went off in my kitchen for no fucking reason we were all in bastard bed I can't sleep in I need to contact the landlord in the morning to unblock bastard toilet (two hours of plunging shifted nothing) and I'm doing a car boot sale fortunately at the front of my house but still I NEED SLEEP

coldscottishmum · 26/04/2025 05:13

Sorry to all those suffering tonight too. I’m on night 3 of absolutely no sleep what’s so ever. I am exhausted, I have an infection in my wisdom tooth, that paracetomol isn’t touching. Started antibiotics yesterday so I’m praying I see some sort of improvement soon, I’m 25 weeks pregnant and it’s the only pan relief I’ve been advised 😭 and youngest DC was up for 2.5 hours during the night too as he’s unwell with a nasty cold.

BottleBlondeMachiavelli · 26/04/2025 05:20

Same here. I thought I’d cracked it by giving up booze entirely and practising perfect sleep hygiene, but it’s back. I made it worse tonight by putting the news on when I initially couldn’t sleep. Just saw upsetting things.

I think if you’re prone to insomnia, it will always flare up from time to time.

Buy yourself some benzocaine gel. It’s about £3 on Amazon. Tooth pain is the absolute pits.

Salt water rinses? I've been there it's utterly miserable at one point my dentist cleaned my tooth out and put a sedative pack in I napped in the chair because it was the first time I had been pain free for days

BottleBlondeMachiavelli · 26/04/2025 05:28

Oh sorry. I missed the pregnancy bit. Oil of cloves tastes foul but does help.

I can't help with the sleep (been up since 4.45am myself 😴) but rather than plunging the loo try putting a couple of dishwasher tablets in the loo, leave for 10-15 minutes then pour a couple of kettles of boiling water down.
I have had success with this method a few times!

Trudeknows · 26/04/2025 20:49

I’m sleeping better since I started using magnesium spray. I used to wake up a lot but now go straight back to sleep.

PenniesButton · 26/04/2025 21:07

Get some melatonin gummies. I buy 10mg ones from Biovea and they've changed everything for me.

alcoholnightmare · 26/04/2025 21:22

I am a terrible sleeper too. A couple of times, I’ve genuinely gone 36hrs without sleep. Can you ask your dr for zopiclone? I’d recommend 2X 7.5mg… absolute knock out.

Not newborn, but i have a 6 month old who doesn't sleep (he is absolutely glorious though) if you're still offering! X

Drop them off in the morning, I'll take a them for a couple of nights! Ah I do appreciate what that is like also as a parent of two. This time will pass.

Arglefraster · 26/04/2025 22:00

I'm a naturally hideous non sleeper but magnesium, melatonin and ashwagandha taken an hour before I go to bed has (honestly - I know it sounds dramatic) changed my life.

Hope everyone finds something that works for them, my sleep has been poor this week due to upset & I had honestly forgotten just how much everything aches when you're surviving on a couple of hours of broken sleep.
