Does anyone have any suggestions of things to do/nice routes to stroll near Waterloo tomorrow. I need to be in the area from 6-9pm and I will have already eaten food so I can't just sit in Giraffe!

Thanks :)

Jist walk along the south bank. On Saturdays there would be stuff on, markets etc. Lovely on a nice day.

Start an ABBA flash mob!

It sounds like you’ll be alone, but just in case I’ve got that wrong Draughts, the board game cafe, is a great place to pass some time. Otherwise as PP said, it’s a fabulous place to take a stroll. I’m a Londoner born and bred and it’s one of my favourite parts of the city to wander.

Wahacca…. Wander down the river… Imax…. Tate modern… Southbank… London Eye… London Aquarium… Cocktails at Mr Foggs…

You can walk over the bridge up to Covent Garden, round Trafalgar Square etc.

Only 15 mins over the river.

Walk out and along back to Westminster etc.

it’ll be nice until about 8pm when sun goes in and then sit Bankside for a coffee before your onward journey.

Thank you!

You can sit inside the royal festival hall or parts of the national theatre without anyone minding. Or there are bars inside.

SheilaFentiman · 25/04/2025 22:26

Otherwise, walk along the south bank, enjoy the views !

Go to the National Theatre for a drink and a cake and a look through the gift shop

That’s the perfect amount of time to walk to Borough Market, browse, buy dessert and something else to take home and walk back, maybe stopping at the Hayward Gallery.

Are they open 6-9pm
though ?

Wahaca is bloody dreadful, don’t go there. Walk along south bank, there are some nice pubs. Alternatively go over one of the bridges and have a wander. Victoria embankment gardens is beautiful right now.

No they aren’t. I missed that bit.

Festival Hall probably is though, and that has loads of sitting places.

Yep, said that!

Cross over the river and watch the London marathon stragglers finish?
