Barking dogs

Dickhead dog owners who just leave their dogs outside to bark all the time (now we're past winter). You have a word and they take no notice.

What's the best thing to do apart from walking around the house in headphones/earplugs?

I can tell you what not to do. Don’t do what my DH did. We had a problem with a neighbour’s dog barking during lockdown.
DH ordered a dog whistle online. Believing it was a silent dog whistle.
When it arrived he went up to an upstairs bathroom, because that was the only room with a window facing the neighbouring property. The dog was barking.
DH opened the window quietly in case the neighbours were out in their garden. He then blew into the whistle as hard as possible. And was deafened by the sound of a very loud blast, scared himself half to death.
He had ordered a dog training whistle! 🤣

Not sure if it's classed as noise nuisance. I'm a dog owner and I hate hearing dogs constantly barking. Mine have to come in if they bark.
