Ideas for a fun weekend with DD9

DH and DS7 share a passion for a particular sport and DH is taking him away for a weekend to watch it, at a total cost of about £1200. I want to treat DD9 so she doesn't cry favouritism! Any ideas? What would you do to give a 9 year old girl a bit of an indulgent treat?

She will love it that it's just me and her anyway. One idea I had was to get the train to London, watch Matilda the Musical, stay over in a hotel and maybe do a bit of shopping before coming home.

This sounds like an amazing idea OP, you could go to Covent Garden first and watch the performers and go for something to eat. Go to Hamleys too if time allows they are all fairly near each other.

where abouts are you based?

I did more or less exactly that with my DD at a similar age - it was fabulous. Maybe throw in a fancy afternoon tea somewhere or an open top bus tour.

We did the Duck boats and Choccywoccydoodah when we went years ago but not sure either of those are still a goer.

Would she be up for the London eye?

Also Leicester Square for M & Ms world and the Lego shop.

Ah I'm glad my idea sounds like a good one. I'm in Bristol and only takes 1.5 hrs by train.

She probably would be up for the London eye.

Great choice but I would also look at other shows.

But - forget the London Eye, try Horizon 22, free but needs to be booked in advance, I think tickets are released 1-2 weeks prior.
