Seemed like a good man.

Hopefully he will be with his God now.
I hate the scramble and speculation to find a new pope.

A very progressive pope, who I think probably improved the global perception of the Catholic Church.

JojoM1981 · 21/04/2025 09:10

Seems like he really wanted to make Easter before passing. I was thinking he was really looking well yesterday.

I was so surprised to see him out yesterday, he looked fairly good spirited too. bless him.

CurlewKate · 21/04/2025 09:23

RIP. But please don’t present him as progressive.

I’m not religious at all but I hope he died peacefully with contentment knowing he celebrated Easter and passed on his words to his followers.

Shrewsbury247 · 21/04/2025 09:26

RIP Pope Francis, safely home with God.

It was wonderful to see him yesterday on the balcony but he looked so frail. Determined to celebrate Easter before being called home.
RIP il Papa.

I agree - I have no time for religion but there are some very special people in the world and he happened to be one of them.

We’re atheists but condolences to the believers on the thread.

I was touched to see on the news last night that he had been in communication with his Bishop and small congregation in Gaza every night without fail for a long time, even when he was in hospital.
