Pepper Pig sandwich...

I was at an event yesterday where they were serving bacon rolls. I head a woman say to her pre school aged DD "I'm just getting your Pepper Pig sandwich".

Now, I'm all for children knowing where their food comes from but isn't that a bit extreme....?

I grew up on a small holding and all the meat was animals we had reared. Our dinner usually had a first name.

I have similarly never shielded mine from where meat comes from. DD is 9 and has been militantly veggie since August, much to my surprise!

This reminds me of this scene from the James Dean movie "Giant".

Did the kid burst into tears and say 'noooo, I'd never eat an animal as it's terribly cruel and unnecessary, especially If it was my idol, the great pepa pig'? If not then it's probably fine.

”Mommy- there’s a peppa pig book! She needs to go in a bacon sandwich!”

We don’t do Peppa in our house because she’s the most annoying thing ever.

Yep we’ve always joked about this, kids love it

My daughter has been singing this frequently too! She's school aged though and not so subtly demonstrating how uncool Peppa Pig is to her now (having previously been a big fan 🤣).
